Based on the digital model, the seat was laser cut and elevated on acrylic cubes above the spring system. The acrylic seat was positioned higher than the original upholstery, reducing the load carried by the springs and rope supports, which no longer retain the original jute webbing beneath them. The springs remain active and compress when the chair is in use, while the acrylic panel bends slightly under load.
